REMITTANCE OF 'HELP IVOR' FUND TO AARTI RAI IN BANGALORE, INDIA

Dear friends and Darjeelingeys,

Darjeeling Unlimited despatched a sum of USD 2512.00 (Rs.148,469.15) to    

Ms. Aarti Rai in Bangalore on the 9th of July 2013. 

US$89.42 was contributed by Darjeeling Unlimited to cover the Paypal fees.

The Western Union transfer fees was generously covered by Doma di and Chhewang daju.

Please find attached copies of the documents relating to remittance and receipt.

Following is a note from Aarti Rai to all those who helped and walked with little Ivor.

'A big hello to all the good people there! Its Aarti,Ivor's mummy.Yesterday,I received the money that you all sent for Ivor towards his treatment.And its a huge amount! I am very grateful to all of you towards your act of kindness.A big thank you to all of you. Well,actually its beyond my comprehension to express my gratitude for this big help.I feel blessed to have you all in our life.

The funds collected thorough MARG with the large hearted assistance of Nirnay John Chettri is taking a little longer to deliver  due to more cheques coming in as well as processing and transfer protocols. We will update all contributors as soon as the funds are sent to Aarti Rai.

Once again, thank you very much for opening your hearts out to Ivor. He still has a long battle ahead of him but he certainly is looking ahead to beat the odds with his optimism, his cheer and his zest for life. We will keep updating you all as his treatment progresses.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING LITTLE IVOR

Dear friends and Darjeelingeys,

We have finally reached the end of the fund raiser that we had been conducting on behalf of Ivor Steve Hurley, son of Arti Rai and Wayne Anthony Hurley of Singamari, North Point, Lebong Cart Road.  Five year old Ivor is battling Burkitt's Lymphoma and is presently undergoing intense Chemotherapy at the Bangalore Baptist Hospital, Bellary Road, Bangalore.

The response has been overwhelming. Generous help has poured in from all over the world. We have updated the latest donors' list and will keep doing so as the last of the donations continue to reach us.

UPDATE ON IVOR JUNE30,2013
Ivor has three more cycles of chemotherapy left. Each cycle takes a week followed by a two week gap. Therefore he has three more months to go before he is done with this treatment. Following further assessment, Ivor might have to go through Radio therapy. Right now, the doctors will not be able to say how much of the cancer cells have been destroyed and how much Radio therapy will be required. His next Chemo therapy session is on July 3rd 2013.
Besides that, he has been very upbeat and eating and drinking well. He and his mother has also been receiving comfort, support and help from friends in Bangalore.

Arti Rai has been very appreciative of your generosity, concern and thoughtfulness and has thanked you all for everything. We, on behalf of Ivor,express our deepest gratitude to you. We will keep updating Ivor's condition to all donors.

Darjeeling Unlimited will, in a few days (it takes 3-4 days to transfer funds to bank account), send the collected funds to Arti Rai by Western Union and will post the transaction documents for transparency. MARG will do the same once it receives all contributions.
